When to Load Skills

• trigger-setup: When adding Trigger.dev to a project for the first time
• trigger-tasks: When creating background jobs, async workflows, or scheduled tasks
• trigger-config: When setting up trigger.config.ts or adding build extensions
• trigger-agents: When building LLM-powered workflows, orchestration, or multi-step AI agents
• trigger-realtime: When building React UIs that show task progress or stream data

Key Patterns

Always Use SDK v4

// ✅ Correct
import { task } from "@trigger.dev/sdk";

export const myTask = task({

// ❌ Never use (deprecated v2)
client.defineJob({ ... });

Check Result Before Output

const result = await childTask.triggerAndWait(payload);

// ✅ Correct
if (result.ok) {
  console.log(result.output);
}

// ❌ Wrong - result is not the output
console.log(result.someProperty);

Never Promise.all with Waits

// ❌ Not supported
await Promise.all([
  childTask.triggerAndWait(p1),
  childTask.triggerAndWait(p2),
]);

// ✅ Use batchTriggerAndWait instead
const results = await childTask.batchTriggerAndWait([
  { payload: p1 },
